Fun Facts:
- Union Square is one of the most notable outdoor spaces in the world
- Originally was just a tall sand dune
- Was left undeveloped just like other squares throughout the 1850s
- People played baseball a lot before Union Square was fully completed
- Later on was finished and turned into an official public park
- The whole square/plaza was dedicated to the first American Mayor John Geary
- A well known 97 feet monument called Victoria Monument was dedicated to George Dewey for his victory at the Battle of Manila Bay
- Union Square is most known for a large collection of shops, galleries, restaurant, and beauty salon
