Fun Facts
 - 1.7 mile long suspension bridge connecting Marin County and San Francisco
 - Construction started Early 1933 and ended in May 1937 
 - Architects: Joseph Strauss and Irving Morrow and Charles Alton Ellis 
 - Before being built, it had to be approved by the war department 
 - Its cables were made by the same company that built the Brooklyn Bridge
 - It weighs 887,000 tons  
 - In 2015 the bridge made $129,500,000 in tolls 
 - They have a coast guard base 
 - The bridge’s opening was celebrated for a week 
 - During the 50th anniversary, 16 times the expected amount of people showed up and it was a disaster 
 - In 1930, The Golden Gate Bridge had 2300 lawsuits against it
 - During construction, there was an accident that killed approx. 10 people
